Udar€s na Gaeltachta is proposing a tax-free status for offshore islands.
The group says this would boost industry and population on the islands.
It has made a submission to the Commission on Taxation.
The plan would involve a pilot scheme that would give an exemption from income tax to people who live on the islands.
