Instead of driving to that 4th of July destination, a Wisconsin family built the destination in their backyard.
The Haas family from Roberts, Wisconsin owns an excavation business and put it to good use over the past couple weeks.
They built a white sandy beach, complete with a volleyball court, Frisbee golf and a campground.They invited their closest friends to join them, proving the point, if you build it they will stay the weekend.
"Some people are staying the night and some are staying the weekend, I got to get the Frisbee golf setup yet," said Barb Haas.
Many of the families live only a handful of miles away, but traveled with their R-V's and figure they're saving hundreds of dollars by staying home rather than hitting the road this holiday.
