
When doing debt collections for your business, now more than ever you need to have certain skills that will help you to collect more money.
- One of the most important traits to have is that you must be interested in working with people, be a good communicator verbally and in writing.
- Be persuasive and persistant, with the sensitivity to deal fairly with people in difficult situations.
- You must be able to stay calm under pressure, and be adaptable in tricky situations, for instance when a debtor cries or swears at you.
- You must have strong negotiation skills and the ability to explain financial matters firmly and CLEARLY.
If you can do those 4 things, you should be able to collect more than your average joe.
