This wonderful modern quilt, inspired by the works of designer/artist Denyse Schmidt, is up for sale! It was created by 48 women from all over North America who signed up to participate in a "Block Swap". ![]()
Here is a note from block swap organizer, Jessica Croker:
We each pieced 10 blocks-- contributing one to a collaborative quilt to be auctioned and the proceeds donated to charity.
It oozes with the creative energy of everyone who participated.
Every single penny earned by selling this quilt will go toward buying animals for needy families through Heifer International.
I love the thought of providing a milk or wool bearing animal for a family who in turn can provide better nutrition for their children, send them to school, and even use their new animal to give to others.
Heifer International truly teaches people to fish, rather than just giving the
fish to them.
The finished quilt is 80x87 and will fit a full or queen size bed.
I've attached an image of the whole quilt. Feel free to forward it on,
post it on blogs, whatever you can to get people ready for Thursday!
Look for the quilt auction on eBay starting on March 1 and ending March 4.
Details and more images will be posted on the blockswap page of my blog--
