More networks honoring Black History Month

martin luther kingI'm attempting to round up as much information as I can on upcoming specials and programs dedicated to Black History Month. If I've missed anything in my search, let me know in the comments and I'll include it in a future post.

A&E, Nickelodeon, BET and the History Channel will air repeats and new specials in honor of Black History Month. They include:

Biography on A&E:

Monday, February 12 at 4:00 a.m.: The Harlem Globetrotters
Tuesday, February 13 at 4:00 a.m.: Dionne Warwick
Friday February 16 at 4:00 a.m.: Bob Marley
Tuesday, February 27 at 4:00 a.m.: Whoopi Goldberg

Nick News on Nickelodeon (all times are 6:00 a.m.):

Nick News: "Martin Luther King" on February 2 and February 21
Nick News: "The Legacy of Slavery" on February 7 and March 2
Nick News: "Afro-Centric Schools" on February 9 and February 28
Nick News: "A Life Story of Muhammed Ali" on February 14
Nick News: "Stories from the Dream" on February 16
Nick News: "Do We Need Black History Month" on February 23

In addition, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr. and Noggin will also include special interstitials starting February 10 that will focus on important historical figures and traditions throughout black history. These will air throughout February.

The History Channel will also premiere USS Constellation: Battling for Freedom on February 10 at 8:00 p.m. The special will tell the story of the Constellation's attempts to thwart the Cora, a carrier that attempted to ship over 700 enslaved human beings to the United States even after slavery was declared illegal.
