Leading site for political contributions and lobbying information now
integrated into CQ.com
WASHINGTON, Aug. 20 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Congressional Quarterly
Inc., the nation's premier provider of news and analysis on Congress,
politics and public policy, has launched CQ MoneyLine. Formerly
PoliticalMoneyLine, CQ MoneyLine is the next generation of the
indispensable tool for lobbyists, journalists, candidates and others who
need to track the flow of money in politics with unmatched speed and
accuracy. CQ MoneyLine offers a newly designed Web site with greater
functionality and is now integrated into CQ.com.
"Our mission is to provide the most robust and comprehensive suite of
news and information products to our subscribers," said Robert W. Merry,
CQ's president and editor-in-chief. "By integrating CQ MoneyLine into our
CQ.com platform, we will give readers an ability to track the dollars
streaming into our political system and to assess how their interests may
be affected."
PoliticalMoneyLine was acquired by CQ in July 2006 and has continued to
operate as a separate Web site until now.
With a robust database that puts more than 25 years of data at users'
fingertips, CQ MoneyLine is the most comprehensive, timely and objective
resource on money in politics. The information is updated within hours
after it becomes available, and is drawn from a variety of sources
including the FEC, IRS, House, Senate and more.
With CQ MoneyLine, users will be able to:
-- Track contributions from PACs, individual donors and politicians to
elected officials, candidates and party committees.
-- Find out which industry sectors raise and distribute the most money,
and where the dollars are going.
-- Follow the flow of soft money through 527 groups, such as MoveOn.org
and Progress for America.
-- Retrieve information on thousands of lobbyists, indexed by client and
issue.
Features of the new service include:
-- Simplified navigation: The 58 links on the left and right side of the
PoliticalMoneyLine site have been consolidated into three landing pages
and one lookup tool on CQ MoneyLine, making it easier to find
information quickly and accurately.
-- Expanded search: CQ MoneyLine provides unlimited ways to search for
campaign finance information, helping users zero in on important data.
-- Integration with CQ.com: The service is now on the CQ.com platform and
integrated with other CQ services, such as CQ Member Profiles.
