Abbey retained the women's title at the ESB National League finals at Tullamore while North Down made it an Ulster double by claiming the men's crown.
Elaine McCaffrey (200m), Michelle Rodgers (400m) and Rhiannon McNally (hammer) were among the Abbey individual winners in Offaly.
North Down individual winners included Jeremy Harper (shot/discus), Tom Patton (400H) and Michael Dyer (800m).
Peter Glass (long jump) and Tom Reynolds (100H) also earned vital wins.
Brendan McConville also chipped in with vital North Down points by taking second in the javelin and third in the pole vault.
In the women's Premier League competition, Mary Devlin contributed crucial points by finishing second in both the long jump and triple jump while Leigh Whiteside finished runner-up in the 200m.
Meanwhile, Jackie McKernan's Northern Ireland team made a great start to the AAA Underage Championships in Sheffield by claiming five gold medals on Saturday.
Noel Collins improved his Northern Ireland record by winning the U17 1500m steeplechase in 4:18.78.
Ciara Mageean also became the fastest ever Northern Ireland intermediate girl athlete over 3000m when she knocked over 12 seconds off her personal best by winning the U17 3,000m in 9 minutes and 39 seconds.
Jason Harvey won the U17 high jump with a mark of 2.04m while Hannah Lewis took gold in the U17 long jump.
The fifth Ulster gold medal of the day came from Ciaran Dolan who produced a Northern Ireland age group best of 6.39m in the U15 long jump.
In addition, Adam Ingram has qualified for Sunday's U15 800m final.
