Darren Clarke is showing signs of better form in Tulsa
|
Two closing bogeys prevented Darren Clarke from shooting a second successive sub-70 round at the PGA Championship in Tulsa on Saturday.
After his superb 66 on Friday, Clarke was one under par for his opening 16 holes on Saturday but two closing bogey fives meant he had to settle for a 71.
It left Clarke in joint 24nd position and he was joined on a four-over total by Open champion Padraig Harrington.
Tiger Woods leads on seven under par, three ahead of Stephen Ames.
Clarke bogeyed his opening hole on Saturday and was out in over par after a birdie on four and bogey on five.
Birdies at the 10th and 13th gave him a chance of shooting under par but he could only manage fives on his final two holes.
