Republican Candidates Reject YouTube Format, Further Alienating Young Voters

You_tube As my friend Bill Hobbs points out on his blog Elephant Biz, the republican presidential candidates are dropping out of the CNN YouTube debate, citing "scheduling conflicts." The term "scheduling conflict" in this situation means, "I don't trust the format, I'm scared I might look stupid, and therefore I'm not showing up."

Not all conservatives are defending the candidates' decision to stay out of the debate, and rightly so. It makes the candidates look as if they have something to hide, aren't comfortable with technology, and worse, as though younger voters don't matter. It's already pretty well documented that republicans are losing support among young people.

So far, only Ron Paul and John McCain have accepted the offer to debate. Meanwhile, CNN is trying to "reschedule."
